Everything You Need to Know Before You Ride

The Kona Trolley is a privately run transportation service making scheduled loops through Historic Kailua Village and connecting shops, restaurants, shopping centers, activities and places of interest along the route.

The Kona Trolley fare depends on your pass. Visitor passes are $8 daily or $35 weekly. Kamaʻāina passes are $5 daily, $20 weekly or $65 monthly. Children under three ride free when seated on an accompanying fare-paying rider’s lap.

Purchase your pass online

You can get on at any marked stop along the village loop. Look for designated Kona Trolley signage. No reservation is required, and live tracking is available so you can see where the trolley is.

The current Kona Trolley schedule runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. At launch, one trolley completes the loop approximately once an hour. Kona Trolley is working towards adding a second trolley and seven-day coverage, as ridership grows.

Purchase your pass online before you ride. Kona Trolley is completely cashless, so no cash fares are accepted onboard. Your pass arrives on your phone and can be shown when you get on.

Absolutely. Your pass includes unlimited rides while it is active. Get off for lunch, shopping or a visit to one of the places of interest along the route, then ride again when you’re ready.
